Boozhy Headlines: And the Condescension Reaches a New Level
In a particularly heated press conference today regarding the potential for WWIII if the violence is not stemmed in Afghanistan, Israel, Lebanon and Iraq, Tony Snow came perilously close to calling a reporter a traitor and then followed his statement up by telling the press corp what they should be asking about and to whom... Why is it so difficult to get a straight answer out of this administration?
Q The Israeli operations near the Syrian border could very well be an attempt to provoke Syria to get involved in this conflict. Now, Syria has been pretty cool about this, not to get involved. But is there not a fear that this will again be extended if these operations --
MR. SNOW: It sounds to me like you've just made a Syrian argument against Israel, that the Syrians have been "cool" about it. Look, again, we are -- (oooh. Tony just diplo-snapped you, you treasonous piece of shiite).
Q (Inaudible.)
MR. SNOW: No, no, the way it's framed, Helen (poor Helen, they don't even mike her anymore), is extremely argumentative. I'll tell you what. I think you ought to be asking questions of Israeli military tactics to the Israelis (diplo-snap number two! how dare you ask me a question that I don't want to answer). At this point, we are working for peace. And let me just reiterate: The United States has been working aggressively on North Korea, we've had the resolution on Iran, we've had a resolution in the U.N. Security Council, both led by the United States. And the United States is taking a leading role in diplomatic efforts to move forward together in a coordinated way with regional and European allies to try to provide a semblance of democracy and security in Lebanon.
Okay, go ahead. Is this same topic? Okay.
Q Tony, Hezbollah is still fighting deep in Israel, and can you comment on the reports, and including some U.S. officials that there Chinese made rockets going -- hitting Israel through Iran?
MR. SNOW: No. (Stop asking me questions. Yes, I'm the press secretary, but just stop already).

would you blow tony snow?

He did the same thing to Helen Thomas ( who is Lebanese or something?) and accused her of delivering the Al Queda talking point or somesuch nonsense! He is already about three feet in a ditch, what with his "tar baby" and " American deaths are just a number" gaffes. A truer buffoon there never was!

I think Bush oughta dump Snow for Mel Gibson. It would make for a livelier conference, with more pep and zing, especially on questions concerning the Mideast.
