Boozhy Headlines: How To Lose Friends and Alienate Economies

So what exactly did Speaker Pelosi say to make the Red Party get all down in the dumps, pack up their votes and go home?  Read the remarks here.  Yes, the speech was partisan.  Yes, it was ill-timed and many may say that she was egging Republicans.  But, for the 2/3rds of the House Republicans who defied John McCain, George W. Bush and House Red Party leaders, I just ask, REALLY?  You really are allowing the words (harsh words, I'll grant you) of a colleague to egg you into playing chicken with the American economy?  MY economy?  The one that we elect you to protect?  Shame.  The Country lost $1 Trillion dollars today as a result of your posturing.  I think you all need the boot (and that includes the Dems that voted against the recovery package as well).

Boozhy Headlines: Ain't No Party Like a Wall Street Party, Cuz a Wall Street Party Don't Stop

Wall20street20warriors20party20147Nancy Pelosi had the audacity to stand in front of the American people and say this of the historic soicalization bailout of Wall Street:  "We sent a message to Wall Street - the party is over"  I don't know about you, but $700 Billion dollars doesn't sound to ME like the end of a party.  In fact, it sounds an awful lot like the beginning of a PAR-TAY!

And while Congress promised that Main Street would also get a piece of the cake, on first glance the bill offers little to help struggling homeowners.  Most importantly it does not explain how individual loans would be modified, nor does it explicitly state that they must be modified to allow a change in terms to allow people to adopt a payment schedule that they can afford.  Granted the language isn't finalized, but I'm not hopeful.

Boozhy Economy: The Recession's Silver Lining

The Wall Street Journal reports that between October 1, 2007 and March 31 of this year apprehensions of illegal immigrants is down 17%, an "indication that the economic downturn and beefed up security could be deterring unauthorized crossings."  I knew there was a silver lining to our recession!

Boozhy Headlines: Chump Change

The latest Federal GAO report is out and is stating cost overruns on defense projects have reached an all time high.  The GAO states of 95 major defense systems analyzed, cost overruns total $295 Billion. Then again, a buck doesn't buy what it used to, as the millions of American working poor are all too familiar.

Boozhy Headlines: Slow Boat To China

The Commerce Department released annual trade deficit numbers yesterday and to no one's surprise we have a huge deficit.  Most startling was that 1/3 of the total trade deficit ($66.5 Billion) was a result of the huge trade deficit with China which reached a record $22 Billion.  Roughly this means that for every boat of American goods we send to China, those Commies send 5 in return.

That's one slow boat to China we're sending folks.  I know the asians have super speedy transportation and stuff. I mean that Bullet Train totally kicks Acela's ass, but I didn't know that their boats were so much faster than ours.
