Boozhy Headlines: Texas Serves as a Beacon of Education or Ex-Governor George W. Bush's No Child Left Behind Totally Works

In W's SOTU (which we live blogged) George Jr. asked Congress to renew his "No Child Left Behind" education policy.  We've long opposed the No Child Left Behind policy and there is plenty of evidence that it isn't working. The most recent evidentiary nail in the coffin hits markedly close to home for our Commander in Chief. In fact, we have to look no further than W's home state of Connecticut Texas.

The Houston Chronicle reports that 1 in 3 Texas students do not graduate from high school and in urban areas more than half drop out before reaching their senior year accounting for approximately $730 Billion in expenses to the State over the past 20 years.  Seems to me that quite a few kids are getting left behind, about 2.5 million in Texas alone...  Hat Tip:  PD
