Boozhy Senators: Liddy Dole

From this week's New Republic (Hitting Stands Feb. 19):

But, above the smile, her blue-green eyes seem a little tired, and all I can think is, "How much must it suck to be Liddy Dole these days?"

Liddy_dole_1Yikes.  The article focuses on the failure of the NRSC to hold the Senate in the '06 Elections.  Given Liddy's ho-hum approval rating and the fact that she is trailing in a recent poll to (not yet announced) Gov. Mike Easley, we're guessing the Republicans may lose on of their old guard superstars.  In light of Dole's role as chair of the NRSC and the outspoken disapproval of colleagues and Conservative pundits, the well manicured face of the Women Republicans will not likely have a host of party supporters coming to her rescue in the next two years.
